$200 million, 175 employee, boat sales and service dealership with 11 locations on the Gulf Coast (Naples to Houston). Responsibilities include: accounting, treasury, financial planning and reporting, business operations, IT, insurance, real estate, and legal.

 

Accomplishments:

 

·         Key (non-family) member of a management team that doubled the revenue and built the company into a nationally recognized, top-performing dealership.

·         Built a strong accounting and finance department by recruiting and mentoring a solid team and implementing best practices.

·         Implemented a conservative treasury management solution that reduced annual interest expense by $250,000 without increasing risk.

·         Created a financial forecasting model (Excel-based) that integrates the income statement with the balance sheet to project future cash flows and performance to loan covenants.

·         Established a new insurance company with a Tampa insurance agency to provide captive insurance solutions for our customers.

$200 million, 1,000 employee, global software company that provides infrastructure software solutions to over 7,000 customers from 40 offices around the world. Responsibilities included: accounting, financial planning and reporting, M&A, treasury, order administration (contracts, billing and collections), human resources, purchasing, travel, and facilities.

 

Accomplishments:

 

·         Led the entire acquisition process of the $60 million Landmark Systems Corp. in 2002, including: led the due diligence team, secured bank group approval for the acquisition, and led the integration of the two companies. 

·         Refinanced a $150 million bank credit line with $50 million for new acquisitions that provided capital for continued company growth.

·         Evaluated new opportunities for acquisition. Led due diligence teams (accountants, attorneys) that evaluated over ten acquisition opportunities and performed on-site due diligence.

·         Established revenue recognition policy and controls to ensure company compliance with GAAP.

·         Improved accuracy and timeliness of monthly accounting close.

·         Standardized employee benefits internationally and implemented an annual merit review process for all employees.

$70 million, 350 employee, multi-plant manufacturing company that provided plastic caps (closures) to the food and beverage industry. Public company (NYSE) until acquired by Kerr in 1998. Responsibilities included: accounting, financial planning and reporting, pricing, treasury, and IT.

 

Accomplishments:

 

·         Implemented changes in the Sarasota plant cost structure (cellular manufacturing, 7x24 operations) that resulted in over $1.3 million of annual cost reduction and reduced WIP inventory.

·         Implemented variable cost pricing strategy that improved new business decisions and increased revenue.

·         Led several debt refinancings and a public debt offering.

·         Implemented new JD Edwards ERP system company-wide.

·         Designed and implemented complex capital equipment spending analysis model that was used to justify multi-million dollar projects.

·         Led project that reduced manufacturing scrap and color changes in production.
